History could be in the making on Sept 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas Nevada. On this important evening Floyd Mayweather Jr., could make his mark on the boxing history books. If Floyd successfully beats Victor Ortiz, Floyd will go down as one of the only fighter to have a record of 42 wins and no losses. The last fighter to hold this record was Sugar Ray Robinson with a early professional record of 40 wins 0 losses until he fought the Great Jake Lamotta. A loss in which Sugar avenged with in 3 weeks of the intial battle. Not to mention Rocky Marciano the great heavy wieght who retired undefeated. But of the current ERA Floyd Mayweather Jr, has dominated his sport for more then 15 years with a unblemished record. If Floyd is successfull in defeating Ortiz he is beginning to enter into the legendary, hall of fame level. I do believe if Mayweather continues to choose high level competion and dispatch of them with ease this will only add to a already historic career. A first look at the 24/7 part 1 Mayweather vs Ortiz was extremely well produce episode were the world got a chance to witness the explosive nature of Floyd Mayweather and his relationship with his father. While filming the show Floyd Sr, made a comment about being the best trainer in the world when Floyd Jr, decided to go in on his father explaining that his father was not responsible for his career. Floyd went on to say that his Uncle Roger Mayweather was the best trainer in the world. Of course Father Mayweather did not agree and a very heated arguement ensued. Floyd truly appears to have a deep antimosity towards his father for leaving him when he was 16 years old. Even going as far as to recalling the situation and stating that Roger trained me from 16 yrs old until now. This being a very explosive developement before the fight considering the focus should be Victor Ortiz. In the past these sort of situation have occured around Floyd and has had little to no effect on his performance in the ring. Stay Tuned to see where 24/7 leads us. |

Some of the upcoming fights includes a return of Andre Berto on Sept 3, 2011. Berto will take on IBF Champion Jan Zaveck in what will be a test for Berto to see whether or not he has fully recovered from his lost to Victor Ortiz. Going into this fight I expect Berto to be in prime shape and ready for a fight. Considering he just blew a chance to fight Floyd "Money" Mayweather there is a true sense of urgency in the Berto camp. I believe Berto has to win this fight in very impressive fashion if he doesn't then he will need to go back to the gym and work out the problems. We also have a great match coming up in the Shotime Super Six Tournament, after more then 2 years we have finally made it to the final match up Andre Ward vs Carl Froch. This fight is scheduled for October 29th 2011, finalizing the super six champion. The heavy favorite going into this fight is Andre Ward, Froch does not have the althletic ability to keep up with Andre Ward. Make way for the Middle Weights. Kimbo Slice recently made his boxing debut in Oklahoma against a Journeyman whom Slice dispatched of in all of 13 seconds into the 1st round. This could be the next coming of Mike Tyson, if we base this off of sheer power and ability to delivering a Knock Out blow then Kimbo Slice will bring real excitement to the heavyweight division. Excitement unseen since the days of "IRON" Mike. This should be a fun run to watch Kimbo make his way up the heavyweight ladder. We know he has a suspect chin, but consider the fact that he can end the fight with one punch. In rhe heavyweight division there isn't any one punch knock artist currently and the last one we saw was Mike Tyson. Manny Pacquaio taking on Marquez in the long awaited Trilogy, Marquez finally get's the shot at Manny he has been wanting for sometime now. The one fighter who has seemly had Manny's number in they're previous two battles. The interesting thing about these previous fights is techincally Marquez has won more rounds then Manny. If it was not for the knock downs Manny may have lost one of the fights. If Manny is truly on some sort of HGH or Ped's then I expect him to finish Marquez with a KO this fight. Don't over look the fact that Marquez can box and has given Manny many problems, but after hearing the statement that Sugar Shame Mosely made to Floyd Mayweather after Mosely and Manny fought I have to question intergrity on both sides. I dont really trust much that Sugar says considering he basically laid down in a fight. But on the other hand how can we trust Manny at this point when he has fought every fighter that Floyd has already beaten. Not much by way of creditability if your not willing to risk anything by fighting guys that there is a way to beat them. There should be more chance's taken here and we the public should expect more from these boxer's who claim P4P King. |
